Pick up your horse’s forelimb as if you are about to pick their hooves out. Cup the hands around the fetlock joint and gradually guide the limb forwards and across the body level with the opposing carpus. Hold at the point where you meet resistance and return the limb gently back to the floor without snatching. Repeat and hold as guided.

You can support your horse from stepping into the stretch and over extending by placing your elbows on your knees.
