1. Make sure your dog has been warmed up before this exercise, either by massaging or exercising.
  2. Position yourself behind or beside your dog
  3. Gently place one hand over the elbow and the other hand on the carpus of the desired limb
  4. Gently pick up the limb and guide (never pull) the limb forwards using the elbow into a straight stretch out until you feel a point of resistance from your dog.
  5. Aim to hold for at least 7 seconds to achieve the most benefits from the stretch. Your dog may relax and give more range of movement.
  6. Bring limb back and allow your dog to rest before repeating.
