- Have your dog standing square, with their hocks parallel to the ground and their stifles (knees) above their digits (toes). Their front legs should also be parallel to the ground.
- Cups the thighs with the fingers and have your thumbs join up over the top of the pelvis. Gently apply pressure with the thumb pads on top of the pelvis and perform a rhythmical bounce loading the hip.
If you are unsure of the pressure, be sure to have your therapist demonstrate this pressure on you, then also on your dog and provide you with a video. Demonstrate back to your therapist too.
Keep an eye out for signs of discomfort such as moving away, turning to look, tucking their bottom under – be more gentle and reduce the time or repetitions as necessary.
