Have your dog stand square and support their body weight if needed either with a sling, a towel, or something underneath their tummy. Gently lift the limb by flexing the paw under. Once your dog is balanced, in gentle rhythmical motions bring their foot forwards and towards the floor, then slide it along the floor and behind them. Lift the limb up, bring it forwards and repeat this process so the foot is moving in a rhythmical bicycling motion. It should be slow and controlled to prevent your dog losing their balance.
