This exercise is an advancement from the posture sit, into a SIT pretty. Your dog MUST have mastered these before advancing onto this next stage.

Have your dog perform this on a non-slip surface. You may find it easier to have your dog supported via performing into the corner of a wall, or by having your hand support the back of the pelvis above the base of the tail – this is to prevent them walking and/or falling backward as they develop the core strength to lift themselves up.
This exercise must be performed in a controlled fashion – your dog must not be rewarded for moving around. The aim is to build duration with the amount of time they can hold this position for.
