Your therapist will advise you with a suitable size object for your dog. Ensure they do not jump on and off this object and are kept in a controlled, calm manner. Have your dog slowly step onto the object by luring them with a treat. Once they are stood square on the object, get them to sit down. Then get them to stand without stepping off the object. You may have to tickle their belly or move a treat slightly downwards to encourage them to stand. Reward them when they are performing it correctly by sitting and standing with all four limbs kept on the object and without pulling themselves forward with their front legs. Repeat this for the advised number of reps below.
