Always perform this exercise on a non-slip surface.

Begin by performing sit to stands, to warm up your dog. Then add a raised surface such as a block that is non-slip, encourage your dog to put their front limbs onto the raised surface and them to “sit”. Lure positioning is vital for success – you need to keep the lure just in front and above their nose to encourage them NOT to step back off the block. You may find that you need to hold their collar to discourage stepping back, and immediately praising when performed successfully.
When your dog stands, they must push through their hind legs, whilst inhibiting the pulling forward of their front limbs by having them placed on an object. Reward when your dog stands.

Your therapist will advise the correct height of the front limb object, as well as the amount do repetitions and sets to perform.
