1. Set up your dog on a non-slip surface where they are comfortable.
  2. Ask your dog to stand square, use a treat lure if needed.
  3. Cup your hands either side of the dog’s shoulders.
  4. Gently push on either hands to shift the dog’s weight in a rocking motion.
  5. Your therapist will have guided you to include a hold, or rocking.

The forelimbs or hindlimbs can be placed under a raised surface which is stable or unstable depending on your therapists recommendations. If the front legs need to be raised, place the object down and gently encourage your dog to step up onto the object with just their front legs. Try and make them as square as possible, which may involve lifting and replacing their feet to ensure they are lined up.
