Observations : Review session The initial complaints have all now resolved. Nala has good tone and size to her quadriceps and hamstrings. There are no longer fasciculations on stifle extension and the ROM and behaviour during elbow assessment has improved. The tone of her L/ shoulder, L/ sartorius and caudal trapezius has reduced. She does still have multiple TP’s in her epaxials bilaterally but as this likely started before surgery it will take more time to resolve – owner to carry on with heat massage and spinal stretches. Manual Treatments Delivered : Massage to paraspinals Therapeutic Exercise Programme: In Clinic + Home Prescription : Sit down sit stand Luring forward in sphinx Electrotherapy Delivered : Laser 4J per point to L/ stifle and hip, both elbows, R/ hip, TP’s in back (2J) Treatment Plan : Discharged and will contact if any issues. :) |

Observations : Had an incident where she bashed into the window and was lame on her LF. She has improved since with rest and metacam but will keep an eye on it. Prior to this she was back to 50-minute walks. Assessment : Loading the LH really nicely. No LF lameness seen in dynamic assessment and no area of swelling or inflammation. Manual Treatments Delivered : Massage to the paraspinals to treat the tension and trigger points. PROM L/ stifle Therapeutic Exercise Programme: In Clinic + Home Prescription : 3 legged weightshifting Pole-work with sit to stand after each rep Electrotherapy Delivered : Laser to both stifles 4J per point; medial, cranial and lateral PMFT bone healing L/ stifle PMFT vasodilation and pain to back Laser 4J to both elbows Treatment Plan : Review session next week with potential to discharge. |

Observations : Owner’s are happy with her progress. She has been performing new spinal stretches well & Cherie is very consistent with the HEP. Did a 50-minute walk this week and she was not lamer after, and has not been lame standing up after lying this week. Assessment : Prefers the R/ limb in stance but loads the L/ well in dynamic. Tone of L/ hip flexors & shoulder has improved. Back is still sensitive with multiple TP’s some of which she reacts to. ROM of L/ stifle is good but she is a little reluctant in hip extension. Manual Treatments Delivered : Massage to L/ shouler, paraspinals, L/ trapezius & L/ hip flexor PROM of L/ stifle – 3 reps Therapeutic Exercise Programme: In Clinic + Home Prescription : Added craniocaudal weightshifting – 10 seconds x 3 Electrotherapy Delivered : Laser 4J per point to medial, cranial & lateral stifle; L/ hip Laser to TP’s in back Pulsemag bone healing 10 minutes L/ stifle Pulsemag Pain & VD setting 5 minutes each on back |
